My factory headlight was a victim of a flying tire tread on the freeway and the lens shattered. The local dealer was charging $196.00 plus tax for a replacement as the lens and housing were an integral unit. That's for one! I thought of skimming the local Craigslist and online Jeep Wrangler JL forums for used lights, but I knew I'd end up with a halogen unit that I'd put LED bulbs in. Also, the LED's that were in the broken unit didn't have a cut off line and occasionally blinded oncoming traffic.I searched on Amazon and found this true 9" LED headlight with DRL's for $18.00 more than the replacement unit from the dealer...and it was for both headlights, not just one. I say true 9" because other units on Amazon are the old 7" type (for the JK) that just have an adapter ring, so those lights look out of place in the bigger grille opening on the JL.I have the factory auxiliary lighting package, so wiring the DRL took me 2 minutes. In fact, I installed both lights while on a conference call in less than 20 minutes and the only reason it took that long was that I had to remove the control box off of my winch to completely remove the grille.I like the aiming hex head bolts with springs that come with the unit, but each one needs to be adjusted for left, right and up, down. The stock housings have a plastic hex head aiming adjuster that can be accessed from under the hood on top of the unit, while the aiming bolts on these lights need to be adjusted with the grille off. So, make sure you aim BEFORE replacing the grille.I don't know what the other reviewers were complaining about the adjustment bolts not working or needing shims. Maybe it wasn't installed with the supplied bolts: you put the hex head bolts with a washer through the front opening, then a spring over the shaft BEFORE inserting into the factory mounting points on the Jeep. If you reuse the factory bolts, there is no aiming function, so use the supplied ones.Like another reviewer, I connected to Aux 4 on the factory auxiliary light group and set the settings to latching (switch), ignition on (type of power), and recall last (the switch will stay engaged or latched even when the ignition is shut off and then turned on again).Compared to the throw of my stock lights with LED bulbs, there is a noticeable cut line but the road ahead isn't lit as far or wide in low beam. However, I think that has more to do with my aiming than the capability of the lights. With the high beam engaged, the throw is straight and is noticeable for about an 1/8 of a mile. It should be noted that the high beam is a spot beam rather than a brighter flood pattern, so it really lights up the road ahead. You do see some break up of the low beam pattern as there are 4 lenses that project the light, but for on road driving it's not that bad. I really noticed this beam break up when the light shined on the side of a building or when I was driving on a steep decline. The materials of the housing are supposed to be aluminum, but it feels more like ABS plastic, like the factory ones, and seems much thinner. There was also noticeable paint or plastic drip bubbles around one of the mounting points. The look of the black background is much better than the silver of the stock units and the DRL in cross configuration really makes the Jeep stand out. I didn't opt for the round halo's because I wanted a more unique look and I have yet to see another JL with this type of halo.I still have to go mudding or through some streams to really try these lights out and test its durability and output in really dark areas. But for about the price of one factory halogen unit, you get two really bright, clear white, relatively easily aimed LED ones with a unique DRL that will make your JL stand out.Only bad thing is the lights doesnt last long.(8 months) One of my lights are brighter than other. Great value for the price.I have had these for 6 months now and I like them, EXCEPT that the the DRLs (if you hook that up) flicker and it is noticeable. It’s not quite annoying, hence my rating of 4 be side the quality of light you get with the LEDs is just so much superior to the factory halogens. However if you are not quite set on the “plus shaped” DRLs, I would recommend shopping around to find ones that don’t flickerI like them a lot until they started flickering For the price I think they should last a lot longer than 6 monthsOk, I, like everyone else wanted to replace the OEM Headlights of my 2019 Jeep JL as the factory ones are terrible. I am not a mechanic and was reluctant to do the work myself as you need to take the grill off the jeep and you need to hook up the Halo to an AUX switch. But first, I was confused when going to purchase these headlights as they said they are 9" and when I measured the diameter of the stock light it was 7". I called the dealership and no one seemed to know what size to get. The 9" is the one to get as the 7" diameter on the lens does not reflect the additional inches around the headlight. I said I wasn't a mechanic... Anyway it took about 2 1/2 hours to install, I took my time in doing so as I wanted to make sure I was doing it right. The grill was easy to take off and replace. The headlight pictured above was the original and it is much larger than the headlight I was replacing it with, no worries here as it works just fine and gives you more space in the engine compartment. I hooked up the Halo to Aux #4, I don't know why other than everyone who has posted said that they hooked it up to Aux #4. In the jeep manual it says what color the Aux #4 wire is so that made it easy. You have to use the bolts that come with the new headlights as they are what you use to adjusted the beams. BTW, I saw a video showing to turn your jeep headlights on before you start the process and mark where the beams shine on a wall so that you can adjust your new headlights after install. They did not need much adjusting and it is easy to do as there are only three bolts to turn. The new headlights look great and are much brighter than the OEM. I would have given a 5 Star rating but there are absolutely no instructions in the box, so watch the videos out there for install instructions and take your time. It was much easier than I anticipated.Makes a huge difference from stock lights!Installation was easy and simple. The DRL setup is a bit of a pain because they did not come with a micro fuse tap adapter and 10A or 20A micro fuse. Had to place another order as the local parts stores did not carry them so that's 3 more days to wait and an additional $10.. The lights are bright but the low beam pattern kind of sucks with black spots in the field of view. See other posts about this before ordering. If they were on my jeep I would send them back because of this but wife seems to be happy for the moment. Time will tell. Other than that the lights are great! These light up the night, and with the focused beam hitting the road directly in front of the vehicle, I hardly ever get flashed by oncoming traffic. I did have one fail after about a year, but ordered a replacement set so I'd have a spare.Great lights for the price. Came with screws with springs to adjust light angle, headlights and 2 extra wire for the daytime running lights (drls). Way brighter than the stock lights, easy to install (took 30 minutes), look great.Main lights were plug and playDrls, I stripped the provided wire and twisted it together with the driver side drl wire (only free wire hanging off the light) and used electrical tape to secure it.then I ran the wire across to the passenger side light and connected the other end to the passenger side drl wire. Then I took the second provided wire, stripped it and also connected it to the passenger side drl wire. I ran this up to the fuse box and used a wire tap to connect it to one of the fuse s. Can't remember which one, but there are lots of videos on this.Done.I wish the kit came with the allen key (It took me longer to find the key than to do the install). I just think that sort of thing should just come in the box.I also wish it included the fuse tap. Make sure to use the micro2 version.https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B077PBXGKQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_rST1FbTBHHDTK?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1That's a link to the one I bought on Amazon.Super bright , halo works, but type2 dont have clean cut line. Really dont want return cus already installed. But i dont think i can live with this kind of light pattern. Please show the light pattern for each type. It easier for us to choose. The lights are great! Again no installation papers or Website to go to for video or guidance. the reason I got these was for the Ring Daytime running lights. how ever I also got at the same time the Fender daytime runner lights. No wiring hook up for between the two sets?? and again no installation book or website for guidance. THERE is a Red wire for day time hook up. but who knows what wire to cut to splice into on the new Bunker Indust Fender Daytime running Lights??? I just taped it off as i have no clue where to run the red over to the same brand fender daytime lights I also installed at the same time. Head lights are Very High night vision!! love them. Just wish i could have hooked up the ring daytime as well.I purchased these to replace the stock halogen assemblies on my 2020 GladiatorFit perfectly and are VERY bright. I love themEasy installation. You will need a couple of solder connectors and a fuse adaptor as others have statedOther than that, very simple and straightforward installation. Several Youtube videos available if you search the product name. We'll see how durable they are, but I've had them in for over a month and they're rock solid and zero issues yet.I’m going to start this review and emphasize the fact that I’m reviewing the product and not the seller. The seller does 100% what I expect, I ordered a product and they shipped it to me very quickly and undamaged. Now for the review of the lights. I waited almost 4 months to review so I can actually give a proper review. I was initially very happy with the product, they feel very well made and installed nicely without any issues. I knew that I was buying a cheaper LED light vs OEM offerings and I was ok with that. After installing them and aiming them properlyUsing the garage door I noticed right away that they indeed provided more light than the OEM halogens. The beam pattern while nice and wide protruding into the ditches is also very random on the road creating hot spots. The issue began right away though where every single person would flash their lights at me! With the light last aimed properly using measurements on a garage door and the vehicle a measured distance from that door it would blind the oncoming traffic because the beam pattern. To solve this I had to aim the lights as low as the adjustment screws would possibly go. They now only bother 1 out of every 100 cars but I have lost any long rage visibility. My factory halogens would now shine farther down the road than these LED’s. The second issue is they are getting moisture built up inside of them. The third issue is the halo ring is now losing diodes and does not completely light up. When it’s really cold outside you can also see the lights flicker occasionally. This is happening to both lights and is the reason that I will be taking them out and switching back to my OEM halogens. Like I said, the seller was terrific but I’m not happy with the product. I would expect even cheap lights to work a little better than these.
